Osamu Kaname is a bonus character in Dissidia Calamitas Infinita, originating from Umbran Epidemic. Kaname is an unenergetic and apathetic teacher who slowly becomes somewhat of a mentor figure to the students. Seemingly a victim of the Umbran virus, he has access to gravity-based powers. However the strain of these new abilities and his corruption by the virus cause him to develop a split personality, locking him into a losing struggle for his sanity.

Appearance[]

Kaname has black hair and brown eyes, and wears a pair of dark blue glasses. His default outfit is a formal business suit with a grey blazer, white shirt and a dark blue tie.

His alternate attire, Clearing Eyes, instead gives him brown hair and black eyes. He wears black glasses, a lab coat over a red striped shirt, dark jeans and dark brown shoes.

As an Magnetic Instructor, Kaname uses magnetism for a variety of effects, which grow stronger while in Ex Mode.

[Close] Kaname's creates a large orb of purple energy that sucks the opponent in. If they are trapped within it, debris starts to get sucked in and crush the opponent, turning it into a large metal boulder. Kaname then kicks it away, and it rolls forward until it falls off the stage or crashes into a wall.

[Omni] If the opponent is cursed with Deceiver's Mask, Kaname uses his gravity powers to fling the opponent against a wall, no matter where they are on the stage. Tilting the directional stick will let him choose between knocking the opponent backwards, upwards or downwards. Removes Deceiver's Mask.


EX Mode[]

Kaname's EX Mode is Shrouded Demon. Kaname grows two decayed wings, his suit becomes damaged, and his glasses are replaced with a dark metallic mask. He gains the abilities "Regen" and "Blood of the Hotaru-akki", which changes his moveset.

Kaname gains a new HP Attack while in EX Mode called Deceiver's Mask, performed with R + Square-button. The attack takes 3 seconds to charge as darkness forms around the opponent and four masks float around them, which converge upon the move activating. It places a Deceiver's Mask on the opponent, locking away their HP Attacks until it fades away several seconds later.

Kaname's EX Burst is Breaking Point. Kaname smashes the opponent several times with steel beams before using his gravity powers to rip the Ex Burst screen background apart into shards of glass which he then takes control of and impales into the opponent from all sides, before eventually crushing the remains until nothing is left but an unrecognisable heap of mass.
